Out of work and out of money, Emma has no choice but to take on a job at a mediaeval restaurant in order to pay back her debts. She learns more about the famous "Grimoire", a book of mediaeval texts that dictates how the restaurant is run.

Loulou takes Emma under his wing. The resemblance between Emma and the "Chosen One" prophesied by the "Grimoire" is uncanny and causing talk amongst the other employees. An incident puts the future of Les Oubliettes in question.

The flood
A "Peasant Alert" affects the whole restaurant whilst an agent from the MAKAK (Ministry of Agriculture, Kayaks and Kwebec) pays a surprise visit. Emma manages to create a diversion and uses a crafty ruse to try to dupe the agent.

To buy a gaming console, two teenagers have an idea to launch an online fundraiser and claim that they are collecting money for cancer treatment for one of them. Cut off from the world in a small isolated village, they are convinced that this lie will never catch up with them.
In a fictional South American country in 1907, after the death of her father, an Irish terrorist, Maria joins a travelling music-hall show which offers her a place as a Parisian duettist. Her partner has the same first name as her. Together, they find themselves embroiled in a peasants' revolt.
Jan, a provocative artist with varying degrees of success, finds himself on the brink of the precipice with his daughter Marie, an occasional stripper. She blames him for being an absent father and threatens to jump. He decides to tell her stories to keep her attention and stop her from taking the plunge.
