S2025: E18 Benin: voodoo, an ally for the preservation of mangroves
In Benin, environmental preservation remains a major challenge. Among the most threatened ecosystems are mangroves, essential for the preservation of marine biodiversity and protection against coastal erosion. For better management of natural resources, communities living near mangroves resort to voodoo practices to deter fishermen and poachers from entering these still fragile areas.
