In Berne, Simon is in charge of the Suppenalp mountain hut. In Valais, Christina and Joel spend their first season in Hollandia. In the Grisons, Silvana, Nicola and their dog Lynn are opening Es-Cha overlooking the Engadine. If the snow does not fall quickly, the season risks being short.

Choosing flags and beginner mistakes
At the Suppenalp mountain hut, when Simon hoists the flags at the start of the season, he is spoilt for choice. In Hollandia, a group of heli-skiers announce at the last moment: they want cakes. Nicola opens Es-Cha with her partner, Silvana. She's back to lend her a hand.

Tears of joy and disappointing cake
Every year, the regulars flock to take part in the Inferno de Mürren ski race. Simon and the Suppenalp team are on deck. For their first season at the Hollandia mountain hut, Christina and Joel are finding their feet. In the Grisons, Nicola is relieved to see her partner again.

Watch out for bed bugs at the Es-Cha mountain hut
It's all action stations at the Es-Cha mountain hut! Silvana and Nicola need to wipe out the beg bugs spotted in the bedrooms. At Suppenalp, Easter is the last big weekend of the season: it's clearing-up time for Simon. In Valais, the Hollandia is staying open until mid-May.

Start of the summer season
With a touch of nostalgia, the Gisler family starts their sixth and final season at Chelenalp mountain hut. Ronja Trachsler lives an intimidating experience in Dossen but David Zweifel is there to support her. It's a first at the Länta mountain hut: the keeper Thomas Meier cooks only vegetarian food!

Complicated weather and the joys of hiking
Petra and Remo Gisler manage the Chelenalp mountain hut while looking after their two children. In Dossen, the weather is not great for the first day of the season; hikers do not turn up. Thomas and Vera head off to Tessin to buy provisions of Alpine cheese.

A wild visitor
In the canton of Uri, Petra and Remo host their family visiting from Canada. In Dossen, in the Bernese Highlands, water has become scarce. David is waiting for the tanks to collect rain and melting water. In Grisons, Olaf, a fox familiar with the place, joins the national festival celebrations.

Hens at the mountain hut
In Grisons, the Länta hut welcomes three new feathered guests. Petra and Remo manage their final season at Chelenalp while looking after their children. They will soon supervise a mountain hut that is easier to access from the valley. The season is at its height in Dossen, which is full.

Farewells and tears
The time for the final preparations has come in the Bernese Highlands. David and Ronja get down to cleaning the water tanks. Under the pouring rain, the hens at the Länta hut are also about to leave. At Chelenalp, Petra and Remo become emotional during the meal with their successors.
