On his return from Tajikistan, Paul is arrested on the French border. It transpires that his homonym made a trip to the URSS in 1980. Plunged into his past, he remembers his childhood in Roubaix, his family, the blossoming of his passion for anthropology, and Esther, his first love.
Eva, twenty-something, lands a job as a chambermaid in a prestigious Parisian hotel. Her colleagues are a close-knit team of strong characters. She also discovers the reality of this world where the client is king. When a social movement begins to take root, each employee has a choice to make.
