When Icare, nicknamed Courgette, loses his mother in an accident, he is taken to an orphanage by a policeman called Raymond. There, he gets acquainted with the other children, Simon, Ahmed, Jujube, Alice and Béatrice, who have not had it easy. One day Camille arrives at the orphanage.
A village pillaged, a family forced to flee and two children lost on the road to exile. Kyona and Adriel try to escape from those chasing them to seek refuge in a country with a kinder regime! A long journey of self-discovery that leads them from childhood to adolescence...
